Finding Candidates with Conversational Search
SeekOut Assist makes it easy to find ideal candidates across any industry using conversational search. Instead of relying on complex Boolean queries or navigating through multiple filters, you can simply ask SeekOut Assist to find candidates—just like you would ask a colleague.
How It Works
When you enter a question or request, SeekOut Assist uses AI to:
Translate your input into a targeted search using relevant keywords and filters
Suggest related terms to broaden and refine your results
This intuitive approach helps you discover qualified candidates faster, with less manual effort.
How to access conversational search
Conversational Search is a feature included with SeekOut Assist. From your dashboard, click Search to open the Start Search page.
Starting a conversational search
From the Start Search page, enter your query into the "Who are you looking for?" search box. Describe your ideal candidate using details such as:
Skills
Education
Location
Job title
Years of experience
Any other relevant criteria
Press Enter or click the submit icon to view your search results.
If you're already viewing the public profile talent pool, you can start a new conversational search at any time by entering a query into the SeekOut Assist box. Be sure the toggle above the box is set to Smart Match.
After submitting your query, you'll be taken to the search results page:
Matching candidates appear on the right
Search tools, including filters and the SeekOut Assist box, are on the left
SeekOut Assist will show how it translated your query into filters and keywords. You’ll also see suggestions to expand or refine your search based on the terms you entered.
Updating Your Search with SeekOut Assist
Once you're viewing your search results, you can refine or adjust your search in several ways:
Type a new query in the SeekOut Assist box
Example: Enter “look for candidates in the Baltimore area” to narrow results by location
Click a suggestion provided by SeekOut Assist to expand or refine your search
Use filters on the left-hand panel
Check or uncheck boxes to include or exclude specific criteria like skills, titles, locations, and more
Any changes you make—whether through Assist, suggestions, or filters—will instantly update your candidate results on the right side of the screen.
I found candidates that I like. Now what?
When you've found the prospects that fit your role, add them to a project to keep your sourcing journey organized. Once your candidates are in a project, you can get their contact information, export them to a spreadsheet, send their profiles to your ATS, or even start a messaging campaign directly within SeekOut.
