Recruiters and sales teams often have lists of candidates with basic details such as name, company, title, or location. These lists might come from past sourcing efforts or from events like conferences.
With SeekOut, you can take that basic information and automatically enrich it with more details — including full background, education, profile photos, and contact information.
You can upload candidate information into SeekOut by organizing it in a CSV file. Feel free to use our template or create your own!
Step 1: Prepare your CSV file
Include the following columns: Full Name, First Name, Last Name, Location, Company, Title.
You can either:
Fill in the Full Name column, or
Fill in both First Name and Last Name columns.
Add at least one of the following for each candidate: Location, Company, or Title.
If you have a candidate’s LinkedIn profile URL, you can use that instead of other details.
⚠️ Important: If you include a LinkedIn profile URL, SeekOut will use it as the matching criteria and ignore all other data in the file. Only include the URL if you are confident it is correct.
Step 2: Create a SeekOut project
Go to the project where you want to upload your candidate list.
At the top of the project page, click Upload Candidates.
In the dialog box, click Choose File, select your CSV file, and click Open.
Step 3: Match candidates
SeekOut will automatically match your candidates with their full profiles in the database.
If multiple matches are found, you’ll be asked to select the correct candidate.
Step 4: Review and import
Once processing is complete, you’ll see a summary of how many candidates were matched and unmatched.
You can download a CSV file of unmatched candidates for review.
Click Import to finalize the upload and view all matched candidates in your project.
Once the candidates are in the project, you can work with them just like you work with any SeekOut project -- find their contact information, get recommendations for similar candidates, and export all their data to a spreadsheet that has all their profile data.
