SeekOut’s AI Messaging for Outreach helps you quickly create personalized, role-specific email sequences using AI, while still giving you full control before anything is sent.

Instead of starting from a blank page, AI Messaging uses your role details, company information, and outreach preferences to generate thoughtful initial emails and follow-ups that align with each candidate’s experience. You can choose between sending one consistent message to everyone or crafting unique messages for each candidate, depending on your outreach goals.

This article walks through how to create an AI-powered outreach sequence, explains the key configuration choices along the way, and highlights important differences between the two AI messaging options so you can choose the best approach for your campaign.


When to Use AI Messaging

Use AI Messaging when you want to:

  • Launch outreach faster without sacrificing relevance

  • Generate role-aligned messaging using a job description

  • Scale outreach while maintaining personalization

  • Reduce manual drafting and editing time


Step 1: Create a Sequence with AI

  1. Navigate to Outreach.

  2. Click Create Sequence.

  3. Select Create sequence with AI.

This starts the AI-guided workflow that will generate your outreach emails based on the information you provide in the next steps.


Step 2: Choose How You’d Like to Begin

You’ll first choose how the AI should generate your outreach messages:

Option 1: One Sequence for All

One sequence for all sends the same message to every candidate in the outreach.

Best for:

  • High-volume campaigns

  • Consistent messaging across candidates

  • Campaigns where flexibility and quick edits are important

Key things to know:

  • Messages are identical for all candidates.

  • You can bulk edit the campaign after it’s created, since all messages are the same.

  • This option is faster to generate and easier to manage at scale.

Option 2: Unique Sequence for Each Candidate

Unique sequence for each candidate creates individualized messages for every candidate, tailored to their background.

Best for:

  • Highly personalized outreach

  • Smaller or more targeted candidate lists

  • Roles where customization matters more than speed

Key things to know:

  • AI generates a different message for each candidate.

  • Campaign creation may take a few minutes.

  • Bulk editing is disabled after the campaign is created.

  • If changes are needed later, you must:

    • Edit messages individually per candidate, or

    • Delete the campaign and start over

⚠️ Important: Once created, unique sequences cannot be bulk edited due to individualized messaging.


Step 3: Describe the Role

Next, provide the information AI will use to generate relevant outreach messaging.

Enter the Role Details

  • Job Title

  • Job Description (or a description of the ideal candidate)

This information allows the AI to:

  • Identify key responsibilities and skills

  • Align messaging with candidate experience

  • Generate more accurate and compelling outreach content

💡 Tip: Treat this like an internal job description — include must-have skills, background context, and selling points you might not include in a public posting.


Step 4: Review Information Before Generating Sequences

Before messages are generated, review and adjust the information AI will use.

About the Role (Required)

Review and confirm:

  • Job title

  • Role description

  • Role type

  • Location

Make sure everything looks accurate and complete. You can manually edit any fields as needed.


About the Company (Required)

Review:

  • Organization name

  • Company description

This ensures outreach messaging accurately reflects your company and brand.


What to Highlight (Optional)

This optional section allows you to add:

  • Benefits

  • Unique selling points (ie. Team culture highlights & Growth opportunities)

Anything added here will influence how AI positions the role to candidates.


Sequence Settings (Required)

This section controls how your outreach is sent and is critical to review carefully.

Configure the following:

  • Send type (e.g., In-house Recruiter)

  • Send from (e.g. email address you'd like to send the Outreach out from)

  • Email signature

  • Number of emails in the sequence

    • You can send multi-step sequences with up to 9 total emails

  • Delay period

    • Controls how many days pass between follow-up emails

Once everything looks correct, select Looks good to continue.


Step 5: Preview Your Outreach Messages

Your next steps depend on which AI option you selected earlier.

If You Selected Unique Sequence for Each Candidate

  • Review each candidate’s message individually.

  • Confirm tone, accuracy, and personalization.

  • Once satisfied, select Preview & Start Sequence.

This completes the AI generation workflow and returns you to Outreach, where the campaign can officially be started.

If You Selected One Sequence for All

  • Review the AI-generated message steps.

  • Select Move to Editor.

This completes the AI generation workflow and takes you to the editor, where you can:

  • Make manual edits

  • Adjust wording

  • Fine-tune messaging before sending


Next Steps

Once your sequence is finalized:

  • Run a test email if desired

  • Start the sequence when ready

  • Monitor performance directly in Outreach
