How can I export candidate data from SeekOut?

There are two main ways to export data from SeekOut:

  • Export a single candidate

  • Export multiple candidates

Do exported candidate profiles contain contact info?

Yes—but only if you've already used a contact info credit to retrieve the candidate’s email and/or phone number. If contact info hasn’t been retrieved before exporting, it will not be included in the export file.

Note: Social media links aren't included in the export file due to limitations from our data partners.

How are export credits counted?

Your SeekOut plan includes credits for exporting candidate information. One export credit is used per candidate, so if you are attempting to export information for 200 candidates, this will use 200 export credits.

Can I see what I've exported previously?

Yes. To access previous exports, click your name at the bottom left of your dashboard and select History, then click the Exports tab. Your exports are listed here separated by date. Click on a date to see the exports you made on that day. Click Download next to an export to re-download the spreadsheet, or View in Excel Online to view your spreadsheet in a new browser tab.

Note: Downloading or viewing previous exports will not use your export credits.

How can I view exported data if I don't have Excel?

When you export data from SeekOut, we save it in Microsoft Excel format. Even if you don't have Excel on your computer, you can view the data in one of these ways:

  1. When you've exported candidates, choose View in Excel Online instead of downloading the file to your computer. Excel Online is free to use and allows you to save the file into different formats (e.g., CSV).

  2. Download the file to your computer and then upload it to Google Drive.

  3. Download the file to your computer and then open it in Numbers on the Mac. We've tested on Numbers version 4.3 and above.

Are there other ways to share candidate info without exporting?

If you are looking to share candidate information with your team or with a hiring manager, you can share your project with them instead. Sharing a project does not use your export credits.
